Zimbabwe Mission Trip – Hands of Hope

July 6 - July 21

Our team will serve with Hands of Hope in their ministry to orphans in and around Harare. The children (aged 7-15) will come to Habitation of Hope, one of the ministry’s properties, to experience a Christian camp. We will assist in activities including skits,  Bible teaching, crafts, singing, games and puppet shows. Some of us may help with minor repairs and light construction and/or mentoring of adolescent orphans.

We will experience God’s heart for some of the most vulnerable and hurting children anywhere in the world. We will be encouraged by the deep faith and amazing dedication of the local ministry leaders and workers who have given their lives to serve “the least of these”. Our faith will be strengthened and we will see God at work in powerful ways!

      Mission Partner:

Our mission partner, Hands of Hope, seeks to communicate the love of Christ to orphans by partnering with local Zimbabwean churches and assisting the body of Christ in meeting the needs of orphans – body, soul and spirit in Zimbabwe. They have 18 residential homes where orphans live with caregivers in a family-type setting and they provide food and school fees for about 2000 other urban and rural orphans in need.

Founded in 2001, Hands of Hope started serving orphans at a time when Zimbabwe began facing the most challenging era in its history. HIV/AIDS and a failing macroeconomic environment have resulted in massive poverty. Official statistics say that one in five children in Zimbabwe is an orphan. Many have found themselves on the streets where abuse, malnourishment and worse and soon follow.
