WHAT IS SAFE@HOME?
Safe@Home is a family-friendly Menlo Church ministry working in partnership with Rebuilding Together Peninsula. Safe@Home events are on the last Saturday of most months, and assist elderly, ill, and disabled homeowners with their house maintenance. Our projects are designed to be fun for the whole family (all ages), and completed within a few hours by a group of 8-12 volunteers. (April project is part of Compassion Weekend; no project in August.)
HOW TO SIGN UP
Please select from the list of upcoming dates on the volunteer registration form HERE and register everyone individually who is age 10+ so we can get an accurate volunteer count. Children of all ages are welcome to serve alongside their parents.
All our current homeowners are in the mid-peninsula area and they will be working with us as they are able, or providing refreshments for the team. This ministry helps not only the homeowner, but also the community, by keeping the house from disrepair and allowing the homeowner to live in a safe environment. Typical workdays include things like deck or fence repair, installation of handicap grab-bars, weather-stripping windows and doors, painting or general fix-up.
