HOPE FOR EVERYONE | September 29, 2024
CONNECT
We all have moments in life where we feel something of great value has been lost. It could be a relationship, an opportunity, or even hope. Think about a time when you lost something precious, and how you responded. Did you give up, or did you search for it with great intention? How did it feel when it was found or restored?
ENGAGE
Read Luke 15:8-10 as a group and discuss:
- What does this parable teach us about how God views humanity?
- How does the image of the woman searching for the lost coin reflect God’s pursuit of us?
- In a culture that often gives up quickly, what does this passage reveal about the value of perseverance and not giving up?
- What are some “lost” things in your life right now (hope, joy, direction) that you might need to diligently search for?
- How do you respond when you see others who are lost or struggling? Do you find it easy to care, or are you tempted to walk away?
- Discuss how generosity plays a role in this parable and in the “Hope for Everyone” campaign. How can we contribute to bringing hope to others?
APPLY
- What specific resources (time, energy, finances) can you commit to using in ways that reflect God’s generosity toward you?
- How can you practice being more intentional in your relationships this week, especially with those who might feel lost or overlooked?
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing us as valuable, even when we feel lost or forgotten. Help us to remember that we are highly favored by You and that Your love pursues us relentlessly. Teach us to respond with the same generosity and care toward others. May we be diligent in searching for what is lost in our own lives and in helping others find the hope that is found in You. Give us the grace to live generously and to reflect Your love in everything we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
