This guide is designed to guide a group discussion around the weekend sermon. You can also use this as an individual, but we highly recommend finding a friend and inviting them to discuss with you. Menlo Church has Life Groups meeting in-person and online using these guides. We’d love to help you find a group.
What you will find in this guide: A discussion guide for groups and individuals. If you are using this as an individual be sure to engage with each question in a journal or simply in your mind as you prayerfully consider what you heard in the sermon and seek to discover what God is inviting you to know and do.

- How has this series shaped the way that you think about legacy in your life?

Read 2 Timothy 2:1-7
- What is Paul’s message here to Timothy?
- How do the metaphors of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer resonate with you in terms of living out your faith? Can you share personal experiences where aspects of these metaphors were evident in your spiritual journey?
- What is the source of the strength that Paul wants for Timothy?

- Why is it important for there to be alignment between the message being conveyed and the lifestyle of the person delivering the message, especially in the context of sharing the Gospel?
- Who has played the role of a spiritual mentor or guide in your life, and how have they impacted your faith journey?
- How can you actively seek out opportunities to invest in the spiritual growth of others?
- How do you practically apply diligence in your daily walk with God? Are there specific spiritual practices that have helped you stay spiritually fit for the race set before you?
Prayer
How does your prayer life reflect humility before God? In what ways can adopting a posture of humility enhance your connection with God in prayer?
